Editorial Policy

Our Editorial Mission

TCG Card Collector publishes research, guides, and market commentary for Pokémon TCG collectors and investors. Our goal is to give readers accurate, useful information so they can make confident decisions about the cards in their collection or portfolio.

Editorial Independence

We are not owned by a card marketplace, grading service, or distributor. Our editorial content is independent of commercial relationships. We participate in affiliate programs (notably eBay Partner Network) that pay a commission on qualifying purchases made through links on our site. These commissions help fund our research but do not influence which cards we cover or what we say about them. When a page contains affiliate links, we disclose it.

How We Research

Our coverage draws on a combination of authoritative sources:

• TCGdex — open-source Pokémon card catalog for card specifications (set, number, rarity, type, attacks, HP).
• TCGPlayer — market pricing data for graded and raw Pokémon cards sold on the largest US TCG marketplace.
• eBay Browse API — live and recently-completed eBay transactions to reflect real transaction prices across grades and conditions.
• Poketrace — aggregated marketplace pricing and historical trend data across major TCG sales venues.
• PSA population reports & grading company data — for context on how many examples exist at each grade.
• First-hand collecting experience — our team collects and plays. Editorial commentary draws on that ground truth.

Our Use of AI

We use AI-assisted research and drafting tools to help produce articles, card profiles, and market commentary at scale. Every AI-assisted draft is reviewed against primary sources before publication, and our editorial team is responsible for the accuracy of everything we publish. AI is a tool in our workflow, not a replacement for editorial judgment.

When we cite specific prices, population numbers, set print runs, or market claims, we check them against the data sources listed above. If you spot an error, email editorial@tcgcardcollector.com and we'll correct it.

Corrections Policy

If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it. Factual corrections are made inline with an editor's note dating the correction. We do not silently delete or rewrite content after publication.

Not Investment Advice

Everything on TCG Card Collector is for informational and educational purposes. Card values fluctuate — sometimes dramatically. Past performance does not predict future results. We are not licensed financial advisors, and nothing on this site should be treated as personalized investment advice. Always do your own research before making significant purchases.
